Glow of Death by Jane Cleland

Some days it just feels good to sit down with a bit of lighter reading. Cleland’s Josie Prescott Antiques Mystery series fits right in. The latest, Glow of Death, combines a clever whodunit with some interesting points about antiques and the antique business – in this case a Tiffany lamp. I enjoy picking up odd tidbits of information and former antique and rare book business owner Cleland tosses these little gems into the story for readers to collect.

While some of the coincidences might be a bit of a stretch, overall the story hangs together, the characters are nicely developed, and there’s the satisfaction of justice prevailing. Despite not always making the wisest choices when trying to resolve questions or understand situations, Josie is a determined soul and sounds like someone I would like to get to know.
