Holiday Spice is the sixth book in The Shaughnessy Brothers Series, which is a contemporary romance series. This book revolves around the youngest Shaughnessy sibling, Darcy. Being the youngest sibiling and the Benjamin (Ben) Tanner enjoys his work and solitude as a carpenter in Washington. However, when Darcy Shaughnessy shows up to help Ben with a book of his woodwork, she disrupts his quiet with her energetic, chatty behavior. But when snow comes early in the Washington mountains the pair finds themselves snowed in together in Ben’s cabin in the woods. Even though it is cold outside, things start to heat up between Darcy and Ben. Will their flame continue outside the cozy cabin as Darcy and Ben face their past and their future?
Holiday Spice is the first book in The Shaughnessy Brothers series I have read and it does well as a standalone novel. However, at some points in the book there are a lot of characters to keep up with between Darcy’s brothers and their significant others. I really enjoyed the characters and the playful writing and plan to read more in this series going forward. You can find this book in the library on the Hot Reads shelf, on the New Paperbacks shelf, or digitally on Hoopla.
I definitely suggest Holiday Spice for a fun, flirty winter-y read. This book is good with if paired with a hot drink, fuzzy socks, and a warm blanket.
