Autonomous by Annalee Newitz

Autonomous

Autonomous ultimately wound up disappointing me.  This book follows the stories of both a pirate medicine dealer, and the robot/government agent team trying to track her down.  This book was very highly reviewed, and I can see why.  The book is very thought provoking and touches on a lot of hot button topics right now.  There is an element of excitement towards the end, with other moments of intrigue scattered throughout, but, for my tastes, there was just far too much sex involved.  What I thought would be an action packed thriller ended up being more of a thought provoking love story than anything else.  Don’t get me wrong.  It’s not that this book isn’t good.  It is.  It is very good and raises a lot of incredibly poignant questions, it just wasn’t my cup of tea.  Don’t let that discourage you from picking this one up however!
