An Invisible Thread by Laura Schroff

Invisible ThreadIt all begins with a chance encounter on a busy street corner in New York City.  A busy sales executive brushes past an 11-year old boy asking for change on the street corner and continues on with her day.  But then something convinces her to stop.  She turns around and offers to have lunch with the young man.  They talk.  And thus begins the blossoming of an unlikely friendship that would last for years and change not one, but two lives.  At least, that’s how the story goes…

An invisible Thread” is a wonderful, heartwarming story of the friendship between Laura Schroff and Maurice Mazyck.  It is a story of caring and compassion, and the power of a little understanding, and small acts, to go a long way in a person’s life.  But there’s always more than one way to view every story…

This book was the selection for our non-fiction book discussion last month, and what a discussion we had!  I’ll not spoil any future discussions by revealing too much of what we talked about, but suffice it to say, this book can spark up quite the conversation!  I would highly recommend this book to any group looking for a book that can both touch your heart and stir up debate at the same time.  You’d be surprised at what you might find!  I know I was!

I found this to be a very easy read, and the audiobook is even better than the book!  This is an eye opening, heartwarming tale that can really spark up some conversation!
